Safety Procedures
Safety First! When installing, operating or maintaining the equipment, always use proper safety procedures in accordance with local laws and regulations.
- Always use qualified personnel and electricians for installation, maintenance and servicing. Electrical connections only by certified electricians. Operating a blower without proper grounding can cause personal injury or death.
- Always disconnect power at the circuit breaker or fuse box before working on the motor or blower assembly. Follow lockout/tagout procedures.
- Always wear safety glasses. Workers near operating blowers should always wear hearing protection per OSHA regulations.
- Never operate the motor/blower assembly without the belt guard properly installed, or with the blower inlet unprotected by a filter element assembly.
- Never operate the motor/blower assembly with the discharge outlet open. Always connect the outlet to system piping or a control valve — running unloaded causes high current draw and damages the motor and electrical system.
- Always keep hands, tools, long hair, loose clothing, neckties, jewelry and similar items away from all moving or rotating parts.
- Use caution with water-cooled units — the blower head operates at high temperature and the outer surface can burn on contact.
- Always install motor current protectors (3-phase), circuit breakers or fuses sized per motor nameplate data.
Replacement-Parts Schedule
Minimum replacement frequency for genuine Nopassy parts in two-shift and three-shift operations.
| Part | 2 shifts / 16 hours | 3 shifts / 24 hours |
|---|---|---|
| High-Speed Belt | 12 months | 6 months or 4000 hours |
| Tensioner Spring | 12 months | 6 months or 4000 hours |
| Tensioner | 24 months | 12 months |
| Filter Element | every 3 months (inspect) | every 1 month (inspect) |
| Core Bearing | 24 months | 12 months |
| Blower Head Assembly | as condition requires | as condition requires |
Replace the filter when pressure loss exceeds 25 mbar or when performance drops. Replacement frequency depends on the working environment and atmospheric conditions. Always use genuine Nopassy parts to keep the 24-month warranty valid.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions engineers ask when specifying, installing and servicing Nopassy blowers.
How often should I grease the bearings?
Every 2,000 operating hours with standard lithium grease, or every 18 months (whichever comes first). High-temperature environments (above 80 °C) need synthetic grease at a shorter interval (every 1,000 hours). Over-greasing is as damaging as under-greasing — use a metered grease gun.
What is the acceptable vibration level?
Below 0.15 in/s RMS is excellent, 0.15–0.25 acceptable, 0.25–0.40 requires action, above 0.40 means immediate shutdown. Measure at the bearing housing in both horizontal and vertical directions.
When should I replace the impeller?
Replace when cracks appear at blade roots (use dye penetrant to detect), or when vibration exceeds 0.40 in/s even after rebalancing. Welded or patched impellers are unsafe — the patch can detach and destroy the housing.
What are the signs of a failing bearing?
Three early signs: (1) rhythmic thumping or metallic screeching, (2) bearing housing temperature rising more than 20 °C above normal, (3) vibration amplitude increasing 30%+ within a week. Address immediately — bearing failure is the leading cause of catastrophic blower damage.
How do I store a blower for long-term shutdown?
Drain all moisture, apply protective grease to exposed metal, seal inlet/outlet with plastic caps, and store in a dry climate-controlled room. Rotate the shaft manually every 30 days to prevent brinelling. Before restart, perform full commissioning checks including a vibration baseline measurement.
